Accessibility & Universal Design Knowledge Check
See What You Already Know
Before you begin the course, take a few minutes to check your current understanding of accessibility and universal design.
This knowledge check is not graded and does not count toward course completion. It is simply an opportunity to see what you already know, identify topics that may be less familiar, and help you decide where to focus your attention as you move through the course.
Knowledge Check Details
- Points: 0 points
- Time limit: No time limit
- Passing score: None
- Attempts: You may take the knowledge check more than once
- Feedback: Feedback will be provided to help you learn from each question
What the Knowledge Check Covers
The questions sample key ideas and skills you will explore throughout the course, including:
- Accessibility responsibilities and assistive technology
- Universal Design for Learning
- Headings, lists, links, tables, and color
- Alternative text and multimedia accessibility
- Accessibility checkers and the Pope Tech Guide
- Using AI to support accessible design
Use Your Results to Guide Your Learning
There is no score you need to earn. Instead, pay attention to which questions feel easy, which ones make you think, and which answers surprise you.
If you already know some of the content, great. Use the course to reinforce what you know, learn what may have changed, and strengthen your accessible design habits.
If several topics are unfamiliar, that is exactly what this course is here to help with. You do not need to memorize every accessibility rule. The goal is to understand the core habits, know how to use the tools available to you, and know what to look for when creating or reviewing content.
Check Your Knowledge Again
You will have another opportunity to check your knowledge at the end of the course. Comparing what you know now with what you know after completing the course can help you recognize your own learning and identify the accessible design habits you want to continue using.
