The Quality Quest: Crafting Quality Online Courses

Quest 5: Build the Rest of the Course

Overview

In Quest 5 you will use the structure and design decisions you have already made to build the rest of your course. You will create your remaining learning modules, bring the course to a meaningful conclusion, and provide students with an opportunity to give you feedback about their learning experience.

You have already created your model. You do not need to reinvent your course design with every module. Use the structure you developed and refined in your first learning module, adapt it to the learning in each new module, and continue building from there.

What You'll Do

Quest 5 includes three steps:

Build Your Remaining Learning Modules — Use your first learning module as a model to build the rest of your course while maintaining a clear and consistent experience for students.
Create Your Course Conclusion — Bring the course learning together, help students recognize what they have accomplished, and connect their learning to what comes next.
Create Your Learner Feedback Survey — Give students an opportunity to share feedback about their experience so you can continue learning about what works well and what you may want to improve in the future.

By the End of Quest 5

You should have:

Your remaining learning modules built using a clear and consistent structure.
A course conclusion that helps students reflect on and recognize what they have learned and accomplished.
An opportunity for students to provide feedback about their experience in the course.
A complete course that reflects the quality design decisions you have made throughout Quality Quest.

At this point, the individual pieces you have been building come together as a complete learning experience for your students.
